Website Proposal

Our group has finished our design for the website. We have worked hard for the last few weeks, and the proposal for our client is finally ready for submittal. This is an interesting point in the process because we will finally receive feedback from an outside source. We have no idea what the other groups have been working on, and it's hard to see where our ideas stand in relation to the rest of our class. We hope that Shelby considers our design to be every bit as good as the other proposals and that she appreciates the hard work we have put into her project.

Proposal Development

Our group has already met twice this week, and we plan to meet several more times in the next few days. Our meetings have been very productive. We have begun to develop the client proposal for the website. The rough draft is complete, and our group has entered the final stages of graphic design and layout. We are eager to receive feedback on our hard work when we submit our Habitat for Humanity proposal this week.

Group Meetings

Our group has begun to meet and discuss specific ideas and plans for the Habitat Restore website. We met this week to brainstorm about visions that we have for what the website will look like. One of our team members is in Chicago this week, so we will be meeting twice next week to discuss more details and begin to create our proposal.
Our team is excited about working together to create a more effective website.

Group Research- Willowbrook Study

In 1963 at the Willowbrook State School a study was carried out with children that were mentally handicapped. Students were deliberately infected with Hepatitis C in order to see the natural occurrence of the disease. The scientists justified this by saying that many of the students were already infected anyway. Students were either fed extracts from stools or purified injections to obtain the disease. More information can be examined at http://www.stanford.edu/dept/DoR/hs/History/his07.html.

Updates from the Habitat Helpers

At the beginning of next week, we will begin our group meetings to create a proposal for a website for the Habitat Restore in Anderson. We are excited about beginning some concrete work on this project. We think that it will be a fun experience. So far, we have been doing research and thinking about what Ms. Clardy shared as her view of the website. We hope to incorportate her ideas with out own creativity and create a fabulous website to help the Restore.

This Week with the Habitat Helpers

This week we sent an email to our client, Shelby Clardy. This email was to let her know our group name and each of our names. We also wanted to tell Ms. Clardy how excited we are about working with her on this project.

We have planned three times to meet in the coming weeks so we can start putting together our vision for the website. Until these meetings we will be brainstorming and doing any necessary research.

Megan Craig, one of our group members, will be working on a Habitat house that is being built on Bowman Field. She is looking foward to experiencing this aspect of working with Habitat.
